Though it’s been some time since I’ve written on my 52 Notes project, the adventure continues in full swing. Over the last several weeks I’ve sent out cards and letters to:
1. Thank my great friends Kristina, Eddie, and Sandy for coming out to support me at my first full marathon. Sure, they missed seeing me cross the finish line, as they were busy getting their drink and grub on nearby at The Misfit Bar; and also to thank them for bragging at work the next day about the wonderfully flaky and delicious Misfit Bar croissants they’d enjoyed – the croissants I adore and that they didn’t bother to save for 26.2 mile tired me. Okay, just a little fun. I also thanked them for the ride back home to Long Beach they gave me. And for being just awesome, lovely, wonderful friends in general (sniff)… despite the croissants.
2. Congratulate my homeboy Mario (Biggie Small style) on his new promotion at work. He was sweet enough to shout me out on Instagram in return.
3. Wish my Work Son a blessed and fruitful Chinese New Year.
4. Tell my Fresno State kid how much I miss her.
5. Let one of my 7th grade teachers know that he was my favorite. (I don’t know if I stalker-searched his address correctly – the wrong Mr. Rivera may have received the note.)
6. Say hello to a previous colleague turned friend that I haven’t spoken to in awhile.
And, I got another letter back – one from my friend Lorre, to whom my first 52 letters went. Yay me!
