Burger Quest :: Bobby’s Burger Palace…Again

I’m a nice girl. Forgiveness is not a problem. Usually. I don’t typically hold grudges.

With food, though. Gross me out once, shame on you. Gross me out twice, shame on me. So I’m not one to give foods, restaurants second chances. But dang a craving. In desperate want of a burger, I made a late-night visit down a couple of blocks from my Vegas strip hotel to Bobby’s Burger Palace. For those keeping track, Bobby’s got a not-so-positive review from me (remember – nice girl) a couple of years ago; and since, my turkey burger from there has rested sadly at the way-low bottom of my Burger Quest list.

But that craving. Nice girl would be okay with an okay burger, so long as she could pick up another one of the cactus pear margaritas enjoyed the first time around along with a bag of fries.

And whaddayaknow. That okay burger was pretty damn good. Like – I liked it. The dry, dull turkey patty I grumbled about before had turned juicy, succulent, and flavorful. I was fully serious when I said aloud in my Jules Winnfield voice, “That is a tasty burger.”

One difference, perhaps, is that I did not order the exact same burger. The Dallas (a burger topped with coleslaw, jack cheese, bbq sauce, and pickles) didn’t sound appealing this time around. So I ordered the Crunchburger – a simple sandwich with just American cheese and potato chips joining meat and bun. So yes – a second try with a slight twist, but still a second try. Glad I was open to forgive, forget, and try anew. Well, I guess not totally forget, because I’m not taking The Dallas off of my list – just adding The Crunchburger (and, hopefully, eating one again the next time I’m in Vegas).

Oh, and the fries were more bomb-ass than I remember, too!
